Kitchen Organization: No Purchase Necessary!

Have you ever been in your kitchen, cleaning up from dinner and go to look for a container to place your leftovers in? I'm sure you have, as it is something that we all do quite frequently. When you grab a container from your cupboards, can you find a matching lid, quickly and easily? Some of you may answer yes, like myself, and for that, I say "kudos"! I know many people that do not have matching lids for their storage containers, and if they do have a lid, it takes them a while to dig through their items to find it.
This week, while at my mother-in-law's, I decided I would take it upon myself to help organize her storage containers to make things easier to find for her (and anyone else that might use her kitchen).

My mother-in-law had a few storage bins without lids and used them to help her organize her storage containers. I simply grabbed one more storage bin, and then re-organized it all for her. I have included a finished photo for a visual.
I placed all of her travel mugs with their matching lids and accessories in one bin (A), and placed all her very small storage containers with their lids in another bin (B). I kept all of her medium and larger storage containers in a bin, and in a smaller bin in front of that, I placed all of her lids (C).
Although this is not a beautiful sight with fancy lined baskets, it gets the job done and when you're tight on money or can't run to the store, using what you already have in your home is always a great way to help get you organized, no matter what your situation might be.
I encourage you today to get creative with your organization and use items already in your home to help you. Perhaps you have some old baskets that you're not using or jars that you could wash and re-use ... just an idea!
Happy Organizing!
